Through the optimization of the hot rolling process, the cold rolling link is eliminated, which has reversed the long-term dependence of this steel for hydropower in my country on cold plates. The production process of “replacing cooling with heat” has lower energy consumption and lower emissions, helping my country to achieve a new breakthrough in “green” in the field of hydropower steel.
The hot-rolled steel sheet successfully rolled this time is the highest-grade hydropower steel in China, and it is a “high-fashioned” variety in the field of hydropower steel, which is mainly used in large-scale hydropower generating units such as water turbines. Due to the extremely strict requirements on thickness tolerance and plate shape of such products, in the past, my country has always implemented it through cold rolling process. The hot-rolled sheet successfully trial-produced by TISCO this time has undergone strict process optimization and control, and its thickness tolerance and shape are completely comparable to those produced by traditional processes. In the secondary processing link, the energy consumption is lower, the emission is lower, and it is more green and environmentally friendly.
